Foodelicious!

I think this Moo Moo Day cake is simply very adorable. The whole concept was from the buyer, who is an aunt to a 12 years old boy. She has never met her nephew as he has stayed in the land of the rising sun all his life and this will be the first time he is coming by to visit her! So, this is not just a birthday cake but perhaps a "getting to know you" cake too!

This is a yummilicious orange butter cake with some butter icing and some fondant. The reason I used fondant for the black portion is that the weather is terribly hot these days and colored butter icing just dont weather such heat well. The 3 friendly moo-moo friends are hand moulded and total weight of this cake is 2kg. This cake is sold for RM220

Made some goodies for friends who have been very supportive of Foodelicious! recently and pack them up in a no frill basket. Goodies in these baskets are some pastries, namely, curry chicken pies (we asians cannot do without some spiciness in our lives!), Ahoy! tuna puffs, lemon tarts, sinful mini eclipse chocolate tarts and a small love affair cake. Yumms! and I had them delivered just in time for tea....

This cake is love at first bite! The texture, taste and aroma will entice you to eat and eat and eat.. The texture is simply soft and moist but yet not mushy or "airy", the taste and aroma of dates is so rich and delicious....You gotta try this very simple but yummilicious cake to understand this love affair! It is best eaten plain, no frills.. no icing with a cup of tea.
