Adventures of Ben10

This marbled butter cake is 3.5kg in weight and was the request of Aaron who is a big fan of Ben 10! Aaron wanted all the characters of Ben10 on his birthday cake and I had to watch some of Ben10 shows to figure out how to put all Ben's friend on the cake.

This cake was sold for RM250 without Ben10 and friends.

Lookie At The Cookie!

Look what I did on a rainy afternoon.... I made a batch of evergreen cookies! These cookies have been here since...errr... I dont know when but I remember stuffing my face with such cookies since I was a kid.. so, go figure out how long is that! Anyway, enough of me,....

My daughter loves cornflakes and I have been promising her for the longest time.. so, with a free rainy afternoon, I made good my promise to my daughter. (You mustnt lie to children.. they have memory of an elephant!) So, very enthusiastically, I went about making Crunchy Cornflakes and Semperit cookies. Yes, both her favorite!

The crunchy cornflake cookies are simply heavenly. They are crunchy, they are "heong", they are addictive and most definitely they are great with a cuppa. This is a very easy cookie to make and very quickly, you will have your own tiny kingdom filled with crunchy cookies.
Of course, I couldnt hide these crunchies from my daughter for long.. she smell the aroma and was at the table whalloping them in no time... Aaaaaahhh.. to see her whallop them is one of the many pleasures in my life.


This, my friend, is semperit and both of us love it. This recipe was given by my friend from down under and it is simply yumms. Actually, this is so easy to make, you can just whip it up in a jiffy and have a few boxes of semperit as gift! Yup, this cookie make great gifts.
What is so great about this cookie? It is the melt in the mouth and gives you that "feel good" feeling. It is a plain and simple cookie but somehow, it gives you all that feeling. Aaaaahhhh..

Yes, this semperit is packed up as gift for a friend.. Dont you think they are great gifts? I most definitely think so!

James's Favorite Things at 50!

James's wife called to order the cake. She wanted the cake to have all his favorite things.. which are, lion dance, bmw car, camping, beer, football and books AND... the cake must be in the shape of 5 0! Wahahahaa.. I couldnt help laughing. So, for the whole week, I moulded all James's favorite things... and of course, the weather has turned rainy and this is bad news for moulding..Sigh...

As I was working on this lemon butter cake, I couldnt help humming to the tune of My Favorite Things. Incidentally, one of my favorite things is to see the joy and happiness on my customer's face upon seeing what I have created for them. Hopefully, Fanny aka James's wife is pleased..

Total weight of this cake is approximately 5kg and was sold for RM420.

Ultraman Cosmos - A child's passion!

Did you know that there are quite a few types of Ultraman? I have always thought that there is only one...the one with eyes that look like salted eggs! hehehehhee.. Anyway, I am no longer a child hence time has changed..

Changed to this... There are plenty of Ultraman nowadays.. this is one of them.. Ultraman Cosmos and this is a child's passion. His parents went to a lot of effort to get the above picture out for him to have on his cake... His cake is a marbled butter cake weighing in at approximately 2.5kg and was sold at RM180.

Caramelized Apple Cheesecake

I had some apples sitting on my dining table looking very forlorn and.... I decided to make something out of them! Initially, it was to make apple pie but after thinking, I have decided to be adventurous... decided to combine something I like with something I love.. apple pie filling with baked cheesecake!

I also decided to have a flavorful base made of crushed cookies to enhance the whole taste. With a reasonably rich cheesecake that is baked as the main star with slices of nicely flavored apples to compliment the cake, the result is... a very delicious caramelized Apple cheesecake that has a hint of lemon and cinnamon.

This can be bought for RM95...... a delicious indulgence!

Party Food - Sambal Ikan Bilis & Simple Fried Bihun

Sambal Ikan Bilis
This is the most versatile dish for parties! You can have it with rice for those who cannot live without rice.. or, if you are funky, you can have them on crackers with a paper thin slice of cucumber. Or.. you can lightly toast some slices of baguette and top this on top with some sesame seeds. It's simply YUMMMS!! You just have to make sure you have plenty of such Hors d'Oeuvres ready. Hehehehehe..






Simple Fried Bihun
I love this no fuss, no frills bihun. I usually dont flavor this bihun with soya sauce or oyster sauce to retain the original color. Instead, this bihun is flavored with lots of shredded cabbage, carrots, chinese mushrooms, chicken fillet and fish cakes. Oh yes!! this is one helluva flavorful bihun. Yes, looks can be very very deceiving.

Anyway, this flavorful bihun is excellent for parties as it compliments other side dishes very well... for this party, this bihun complimented the sambal ikan bilis excellently! So, this is one dish where you can either eat it on its own or together with something else for some Ooomph!





Boxing Chicken
Ooooo.. this is my favorite! It depends on the crowd of the party. If it is for kids, I will not flavor this with anything more than the usual flavoring ingredients.. Kids like them original! Hehehehe...


But if it is for an adult party, I usually make this spicy... and see them disappear... hehehe.. yes, the adults will devour them in a jiffy and as such, I always tell my clients to get more!

Local Delicacy - Sago Gula Melaka..

I love making this... it is easy and simply jiffy to make and of course! yummy too. This was what I made during the Raya holiday. Lazing around the house and the weather was simply hot and humid giving me an excellent excuse to indulge in something like sago gula melaka. Yummmmsss!!
