Comfort Food - Pow Wow Burger

Burgers! Recently there were some news about locally made burgers that many people have to wait in line for hours to buy... and since I am a greedy thing, I was very eager to get in line.. hahahaha.. but the driver wasnt keen.. so, I was thrown a challenge.... "why dont you make your version and test the market"....Hahaha...

So, I did on a hot sunny day!! This burger was made using a mixture of minced beef and lamb with chopped onions, parsley and a dash of this and that.. hahaha.. It was fun creating things! Infact, I was humming away as I shaped these delicious patties.

Anyway, when all the preparation work done and it was time to start up the fire and grill these patties of juicy meat. Hehehehe.. the sizzling sound and the smell was intoxicating! I knew the burger is going to very delicious.... Oooo.. and when the patties were done and rested and time to assemble to burger.. I was rubbing my hands in glee.. Heh! heh! heh!....

Sinking my teeth into the whole works was simply heavenly. No dry patty.. very juicy and flavorful.. buns that were soft but firm with a correct texture, the lettuce, tomatoes, onions and dressings all make me feel like a successful gourmet chef! Hahahaha,.. and I was very pleased that the driver gave me a thumbs up for my burger..."Can sell dy!! No need to go line up for hours" Yay!!

Hahahaha...if anything I need to improve, I will need to add in more spices and salt.... ooohh yess!!!

Comfort Food - Buns..

Oh yes!!! I have always wanted to make these buns. Hahahahaha... Yes, those fluffy and empty buns which you can stuff whatever you like in it. It has always remain a dream until recently when I was lost of ideas as to what to cook for my monster...heh! heh! heh!

With that thought, I thought I will just go buy a few buns and make whatever I was thinking for her but when I saw the price of those buns... ooooohhh!!! that is not possible!! RM2.60 per bun?? I was very reluctant to buy instead, I pulled up my socks (so to speak) and get going...

I made these little buns from scratch and it was so much fun. Hahahahaha... my monster and I had loads of fun make them and she went on to name them as they sit there proofing.. Hahaha.. And like always, since these are handmade, I wasnt expecting a soft and fluffy bun.. I was rather "shocked" that they are... even without any enhancers or improvers. Oh yessss,.... another reason why I have not buy bread from the normal bakeries or bread producers is the high amount of preservatives and improvers and enhancers these factories uses are simply scary!! Compare this.. home made bread will turn moldy by the 5th day or sometimes, 4th day after making depending on the weather... but those store bought breads never seem to turn moldy... scary!! Imagine what have they added in those factories!!

Anyway, as bread making is not difficult and since I have been making my focaccia bread weekly, what is another loaf of bread?? Hehehehehe.. And if you are wondering what I made with these bunny buns, read on!! Hahahahahaa...

These can be ordered... you just need to call me to tell me..... wooo hooo!!

Angels & Baby

Zoey's aunt was very excited with her arrival. Her long awaited niece made her grand entrance last month and aunt immediately placed an order for a full moon cake to celebrate Zoey's full moon party. I was asked to come up with something sweet and pretty with angels and all baby necessities. I came up with this.. 3 angels watching over a sleeping baby with bibs, booties, pacifier, ballerina's tutus and bows.

Another request from Zoey's aunt is that the cake must not be too sweet and with that, I made lemon buttercake. This whole arrangement was sold for RM590.
