Pirate Penguins!
When the client requested for a penguin cake, I was wondering what penguin would interest a 8 years old boy until I surf the net and found this. Hehehehehe... and I was right! Hahahaha.. Ivan was mighty happy with his vanilla buttercake and of course the right penguin.
Total weight of this cake was 2kg and a party of 10 polished off every bit of it....

I have always knew her secret love for a good butter cake.. hehehe... she is not someone who likes all the fanciful continental cakes but everyone seem to always give her such cakes, Hahahahaha.. so, on her milestone of entering a new decade, I decided to make her something she really likes. Hehehehe..
The above are pictures I got from my friend... Hehehehe.... she was so pleased with the cake that she wont share it with anyone else. She whalloped the whole cake over the course of a week and she commented that the cake was very moist to last so long in the fridge. hehehehe...

This is my first ever class project with a 12 years old girl. This girl has recently sat for her first major exam and now, waiting for result, her mama wanted her do something fun and useful. Hahahahaha.. and with that, her mama approached me to do a series of classes for her daughter.
I suggested that since she will be leaving her primary school for good end of the year, it would be good for her daughter to start with a basic... make a cake for her teachers and mama agreed immediately! So, that started my first cake class with a 12 years old.
It was real fun teaching a 12 years old. She was chatty and quick in picking up the simple method of making a cake. She had just as much fun icing the cake.. hahahahhahaa.. and this is what she came up with..
Classes are on ad-hoc basis and do call for details such as fees, category, etc.

Flying Dragon
Hugo is big on dragons especially those with wings and fire coming out of its mouth. Hehehehe... his mama made the special request to have wings and fire coming out of the mouth to surprise him and he was!! He did a somersault and squealed in excitement when he saw his cake. Hahahaha..
This chocolate buttercake weighing 3.75kg was polished off by 20 6 years olds and 6 adults!! and Hugo kept the wings.. hehehhee..

A simple design
Something I did for an express order.. Hehehehe.. meaning, last minute order... The buyer wanted 5 sugee cakes nicely decorated for her clients who has tasted and like and requested for more. The buyer wasnt fussy about the design as long as the cake is as yummy as the first batch. Hehehehehe...
These were sold for RM160 with express charges.... Heh! heh! heh!

Out-doing at 70!
What do you do for a 70 years old man whose one passion is technology and books? Heh! heh! heh!... and this idea came to mind.. how about a geek book and iPad? Hehehehe.. the wife of this 70 years old birthday boy bought the idea and the way we go!!
The cake was to feed 150 guests and since the grandchildren love cakes, the request was to make the cake BIG. As such, this cake was layered with buttecream to give it height and maintain the texture. The total weight of this cake is 6kg and I must say, it was heavy. hehehehe...
This cake was sold for RM850 and yes, the iPad icons are handmade too.... hehehhee..

A Girl's wish.. ballerina

Angels & Baby
Zoey's aunt was very excited with her arrival. Her long awaited niece made her grand entrance last month and aunt immediately placed an order for a full moon cake to celebrate Zoey's full moon party. I was asked to come up with something sweet and pretty with angels and all baby necessities. I came up with this.. 3 angels watching over a sleeping baby with bibs, booties, pacifier, ballerina's tutus and bows.Another request from Zoey's aunt is that the cake must not be too sweet and with that, I made lemon buttercake. This whole arrangement was sold for RM590.

The buyer of this caske couldnt quite made up her mind as to what she wanted for her daughter's cake.. hehehehe.. So, I incorporate all Zoe's favorite things.. an elephant, piglet, building blocks and added on some balloons and the number 1....

Zefry's Ultimate!
An Orange with a swirl of chocolate was Zefry's choice for his 5th Birthday. He also told me that he must have his current favorite hero on his cake. Ultimate Alien Ben 10! Hahaha... On the morning of his birthday, Zefry very excitedly called to check if he can come pick up his cake and when i answer in positive, he bugged his mama till no end to come pick up his cake. When Zefry finally came, he couldnt stop bouncing in his car seat until the cake was presented to him... hahahaha.. and the squeal of delight and the cheeky smile of happiness was all it takes to tell me that I have gotten his cake correct.
His party was a success.. mainly, all the kids were excited about his cake and when they finally had a bite, they asked for 2nd and 3rd helpings!! Wooot!!

Carousel of Happiness...
Time really fly.. it was less than a year ago that I was commissioned by Irvin's mama to make cuppies for his full moon party. Irvin was a very handsome baby and I came up with 6 very cute design to compliment Irvin. Irvin's mama was so impressed and thrilled! Hahahahaha...A year later, today, I made Irvin's first birthday cake. Yes! hehehe.. Irvin's mama "booked" my time for his cake when Irvin was 7 months.. hehehe.. she was excited to see what I would come up with. Whenever she enquire about the design, I keep telling her it's a secret... she will get to see it on Irvin's birthday. Irvin's mama is a very sporting lady.. she laughed and very happily agreed to the price I quoted her..
On the day Irvin's mama came to pick up the cake, she was stunned! she was speechless! she was quiet for awhile and when she finally said something, it was.."WOW!! Irvin is a very lucky boy! The cake is more than awesome!! Thank you! thank you!" Hahahahhaaha..
The biggest joy about doing what I am doing is receiving all sorts of compliments and having a customer turn into a friend. I measure my success thru the joy in the child's eyes when he or she receives my cake or the squeal of happiness from my customers or the generous recommendation of my work to their friends.
Anyway, back to Carousel of Happiness cake, Irvin's dad was a bit apprehensive about whether they will end up with a lot of cake, as this cake is rather large, weighing in at 5.2kg and they didnt have that many guests.. approximately 50 guests.. When the party started and after the cake cutting do, he didnt have anything to worry about! Hahahaha.. according to Irvin's mama, the cake was "polished" off.. everyone taking more than 2 helpings and the combination of Orange butter cake with a swirl of chocolate was simply fabulous. Everyone love it! Yay!! Hahahaha... Irvin's mama told me that this round, her maid was clever to bring along a plastic container to pack up some pieces of cake for the Irvin and Ian.. a lesson she learnt from Ian's recent birthday party where the whole cake was gone before either Irvin or Ian had a chance to eat. Hehehehehe... now, that, is success!
This cake was sold for RM550 and it took a total of 12 hours to get it done. All 12 hours was well worth it.

Christmas Cakes...
Christmas is the best time of the year!! For one, the weather is cool with lots of rain, my favorite, everything else is slowing down in anticipation of a new year.. what better time to bake and spread the spirit of giving? Hehehehe..
This year, I have decided to streamline my cakes.. Besides the fruitcakes, layer cakes and sugee cakes, I have added on a very warm and toasty Ginger cake with is so good with a good cup of tea and this year's creation, Cranberry pumpkin cake. The response to these 2 cakes were overwhelming!! As I type this, I am still getting enquiries about them! Hahaha.. thanks to my customers who bought them and gave them out as gifts! Yay!!
Oh yes.. those tied up with red ribbons are warm and toasty Ginger cake.. and those in burgandy ribbons are Cranberry pumpkin cake.... They are sold for RM35 each and dont say I didnt warn you.. they are addictive!!
And this.. is 3Kings for 2011. Hahahahaa.. same content.. a portion of sugee cake, fruitcake and layer cake all nicely packed up in a silver box with burgandy ribbons decorated with pretty Christmas decorations. Hehehe.. I have decided to go all silver this year..
This combo was sold for RM150 and it was a sold out!! Sold out... everything. even my extras were gone... I am truly blessed!
