Rio....

I created this cake because I had quite a few leftovers of all sorts of cream and a piece of very nicely baked chocolate sponge.... So, not wanting to waste, I got creative!

This cake is actually layers of chocolate sponge cake sandwich with different cream. The bottom layer is a very rich chocolate ganache with rum, the middle layer has a mascapone cream layer, the third has a chocolate whipped cream layer finished off with the last layer of chocolate sponge and topped with rich chocolate ganache. The dusting of chocolate powder was to add some style! Heh! Heh! Heh!

Anyway, the outcome of the cake is super delicious! It is not overly rich although it has layers of rich ganache and mascapone cream but it is not "ordinary" either. I suppose it is all about the right blend between the sponge cake with the assorted cream and liquor. Oh yes, there must be some excitement in there.... rum, kaluhua, kirsch.... hic! hic!

So, if you are looking for a cake that will fly.. try this at RM95

The ingredients sound like suitable for grown up people but my 6yrs old kid just loves it, so am I.

Once again this cake received 'sambutan hebat' although no liqour in it for the sake of children. I must say is not appropriate as children birthday cake because is not colourful.

Ju,

Ya la... that's why I always recommend buttercakes for children's birthday cakes. These buttercakes are sturdy enough to shape and mould them into whatever the child's fantasy may be.

As for these continental cakes, it is not possible as it is very light and soft.. hence, the "kolot" appearance... heh! heh! heh! more for adult's birthday.
