Little Hao Ze's mom decided to have a birthday party for him at the last minute and we had quite a fun time deciding on the cake! It was initially a conventional number 1 cake but I thought it doesnt reflect little Hao Ze.. he is such a sweet gusto boy! So, after much searching, we decided to have something very different...
2 layer in different shapes and since it is a small family affair, it is a challenge to limit the cake weight to nothing more than 2.5kg.... hehehehe!! and I did it.. exactly 2.5kg! This is a lemon butter cake and there are actually 2 layers each for the square and round cakes. These layers are made to stick to each other like glue with home made lemon curd. (the other reason is that Hao Ze's mom didnt want the cake to be sweet...so lemon curd was used to cut down the sweetness of the icing).
I enjoyed making this cake very much... hehehe.. This cake was sold for RM250 inclusive of Elmo toy.
