Foodelicious!

Hehehehe.. this is for a new mama who just had a baby girl. The common practise of confinement practised by Asians requires one to abstain from some food as it is believed to be bad for health especially to a new mama who is said to be weak from childbirth and strain of having a new baby... So, one can imagine the limited choices of food a new mama can take and after a week or two, the new mama is bound to crave for something special... Hehehe.. within the limits of food allowed for confinement of course! So, when I was commissioned to make something nice for a new mama, I came up with macaroons...

This gift consist of a mixture of pistachios macaroons and Zesty Suzzy Lime macaroons and it was sold for RM80... I am sure the new mama will be going.. "woo hoooo!!!!" Hehehe..

Did I say that this bag of lime that was sitting on my kitchen top snickered at me?? Hehehe.. I must be going bonkers! Anyway, have always wanted to make Lime curd.. I always make lemon curd but never really got my ass up to make lime curd... sigh.. lazy masy la.. what else! Anyway, since the lime sitting on my kitchen top was snickering at me.. daring me to bash and whack them up, I took on the challenge!! Heh! heh! heh!... and made something easy.. The hard part was to whack, bash and squeeze these limes.... Hard buggers.. so hard to draw out their juice..

So, with some egg yolks, a cup of sugar, lots of lime juice, freshly squeeze mind you!, a big tablespoon of lime zest and a generous dollop or two of rich butter and some slaving on the stove later on, I have this really really awesome wicked lime curd.

It's smooth and velvety, giving a luxurious feel that contrast sharply with the full flavor and aroma of lime that is tangy and zesty! And a right balance of sweetness simply completes the whole wicked taste.. making it addictive..igniting a love hate, storm and calm, sharp and mellow feel in you.

This is really good with toast.. with pastry.. with cheesecake.. with cakes.. with macaroons.. oh god!! it is good on its own!! what am I talking about.... Aaaaaaahhh... I am a creator of wicked things! Wahahahahahahaa!!!

Look out for this in my upcoming creations... heh! heh! heh!....wickness is life's little pleasure...

I love the color green!! Do you? What is your favorite color??

I have always found green to be a very pleasing color.. maybe that's the reason why I always like nature.. my house must always have a garden, no matter how small it is.. there must be grass in my garden, there must lots of green in all sorts of different shades in my garden.. Green just make me really happy!! Even when I am sad, the color green never fail to lift up my spirit.. never fail to give me hope... Hehehehe... Green is my color of happiness...

So, when I was commissioned to make a batch of french macaroons for my customer who wanted them as gifts to a new mama who is in confinement, I boldly made them in green... hehehe.... I substituted the usual ground almonds with pistachios..(yes, I have to blend them up a few times to get that powder fine texture) for these macaroons and used a rich and velvety chocolate ganache for the filling.. The new mama is so going to feel pampered and special.. hehehe..

These were sold for RM4.00 each with a minimum of 20 pieces......

These are twister cuppies too! People seems to prefer this compared to the plain ones these days.. Hmmm.. These are with lemon curd and again, these are sold for RM6.. The design is a swirl with lilac flower.. pretty!!

Hehehehehe... this is cute!! Well, how do you pacify 2 gender who celebrate their birthdays together? The girl wanted something sweet and pretty while the boy, boy being boy, wanted something boy... Hehehe.. so, the pretty owl sitting on a branch made the girl with big round eyes go.."OOOO... so pretty".. she was most delighted! And the boy... eager to see what's his design... popped his eye under his sister and went.."YESSS!!! racing cars!! My style!!" Hahahaa.. Life must be great to have a pair of twin... boy and girl twin..

These cuppies are twister cuppies with lemon curd. The kids seem to love lemon curd for some reason. The mama called later to tell me that the party was a success and all the kids whacked up the cuppies.... some having more than 2!! Each of these cuppies are sold at RM6.

Hahahahahahaa!!!! I was commissioned to do this cake by my monster. She wanted to give my uncle a birthday present but didnt quite know what to get, so, she sms me from the shop and said.."Let's collaborate on a cake!"... Hehehehe.. and she got all my uncle's favorite things correct.. James Bond, Oldies songs, books, old movies...

I decided on a book as it was the easiest to shape in a short time. However, given the fact that the weather was and still is blazing hot and bright, working with fondant was a pain!! It was hard to shape the fondant as it hardens fast and even if you managed to get the fondant to shape up, it some how crack up.. Hmm... so, at the end, I had to move everything to somewhere cool in the house....

This cake is a marbled butter cake... the family's favorite.. and the mystery of the kepohs was my idea! Hehehehe.. this cake weigh in at 2kg and if I were to sell this, it will be RM220.

Bear Hugs... 2 bears hugging each other in hibernation.... This reminds me of how a couple should always sleep... hugging each other..

Hehehehe.. Huggies Froggy! This is so cute!! Isnt this what love is all about.. stuck on a lilipad with someone who is always there for you.. hugging and weathering the storm... Ahhh..

With this ring... one shall be wed.. for better or worse, in sickness and in health.. for richer (oh yes!!) or poorer (err....) Hehhee.. yes, it is the power of lurve that sees each couple thru...

Hunny Bunnies.. Just like the bunnies, lots of patience, lots of laughter and ahem! lots of sex is what makes marriage happy and lasting..

I enjoyed making this set of Fairy Tale Weddings.... these cuppies are twister cuppies with some lemon curd filling and some in strawberry compote filling. Each cuppies were sold at RM6 each.

p/s The ring bearer came along with his mama to collect this set of cuppies for his uncle's wedding... and his remark was.."WAHHHHH...... so pretty!! I must guard them and later eat them" Hehehehee.....

Hahahahhaa!! Bouffant Chiffon! Chiffon cakes always remind me of Bouffant.. that puffed up hairstyle that took the world by storm in the 50s.. I secretly think people during that era just love everything puffed up and big! Hehehehe..

Anyway, I made 2 different flavors for my Bouffant Chiffon cake adventure.. I made the very simple Orange flavor but with a twist! I added cloves into it and you will never guess that there is cloves in it. However, the bit of cloves that I added enhanced the orange very well.. it make the orange smell and taste so addictive! I know, I know, orange flavor is orange flavor.. but you gotta try this to know.. mine has a sharp tangy flavor to it because that's the way I like it.. I dont like my cake just sweet. If I want it just sweet, I will just scoop a spoonful of sugar and eat! Flavors have to have its uniqueness.. as in orange, it is never just sweet.. it's sourish, it's tart and sharp that blends and make the sweet taste more pronounced. Ya, it is like a love hate relationship... and that's how I like my orange flavor to be and that's how my spice Orange Bouffant Chiffon taste like...

The Rose.. Hmm... "Rose, Rose, I love you..." I had that song ringing in my head when I was making the Rose Chiffon.. Basically, this is a very pretty looking cake.. Ok.. again! my photography skill leave much to be desired and my monster did something to the camera.. I dont know what but I must find out.. because all the photos I took, the object looked like it had a shock!! Too much exposure I think.. or something along that line! Anyway, back to my Rose Rose I love chiffon cake.. well, it is a pretty cake with a very pleasing smell.. smell like rose.. smell like love.. smell like garden.. smell like everything I like.. of course, I didnt add too much rose flavor into it.. I am always very cautious with essences and flavoring.. a tiny bit too much and the whole cake/cooking is going to end up tasting and smelling like some factory! Wahahaha..

Anyway, I will be trying out a few more different flavors soon.. so, stay tune and see what I am able to come up with... Hehehehee....

These are twister cuppies - vanilla with strawberry filling and they are sold at RM6 each. My client usually leave the creation to me and since she was bringing these to a picnic in the park with the kids, I thought it would be cute for the kid to have Froggy's picnic time theme.

Yay!!! Please clap.. I did it! It is a great achievement for me ok! It's like I finally split the atom and created a bomb or something... Hahaha.. I am capable of learning new technology method to improve the pictures in my blog. Hahahaha!! If you have to know, I am a techno dumbo.. my brain cant seem to comprehend or adhere or follow instructions on anything that is technology. It just refuse to! Hahahaha.. but with this, I proof to myself I can be a bit techno clever. Heh! heh! heh!

Hehehehehe.. a little fun picture from my party catering... made this for a party and decided to be funky with the layout.. I can tell you that it is not easy arranging jellies.. especially when it is so yummy.. hehehe. had to resist temptation of popping them into my mouth instead! Hahaha..

A big Liverpool fan requested this for his birthday..... Hehehehe... This 8 years old boy sure knows what he wanted for his birthday.. He even got all the details correct and percise!

This cake is a marbled vanilla and chocolate weighing in at 3.8kg and was sold for RM390. I was happy that the "boss" gave his approval..."Yes, you got it correct". Heh! Heh! Heh!..

This was supposed to be the cake with a gift ribbons titled A present for you and but unfortunately, the weather went cranky suddenly.. it got real humid and rainy and that is not good for fondant. So, at the last moment, I had to improvise.. create something along the line but is able to withstand the humidity and rain..

This cake was sold for RM200 and weigh in 2kg. It is chocolate butter cake if you wanna know... Hehehehe..

This is a hummingbird cake fashioned into a birthday cake for a grand lady of 82 years old! She, the birthday girl, loves hummingbird cake and what a treat it would be for her.... Her daughter threw her a surprise birthday party and I heard she was thrilled to bits...

This hummingbird cake is a southern cake with bananas from my garden, pecan nuts, crushed pineapple bits nicely flavored with cinnamon and top off with cream cheese. Yes, those tiny flowers are made of cream cheese.... This was sold for RM110.
